I thought about this on the drive home yesterday: nothing really major was accomplished.
Then I realized the same thing really applies to most days.
Imagine you were able to look down on your working day from the window of an airplane. No matter what role you have in your organization, the day-in, day-out usually looks the same when looking down from 30,000 feet.
But when you look forward, it’s a different story.
You can see the horizon. You can see where you’re going.
It’s the seemingly-mundane daily work that adds up to success. Things like sending that contract to Legal or meeting to discuss which software configuration to use.
Success isn’t overnight.
